Project Two: Crochet Chart Tutorial Proposal & E-Learning Deliverable
Project Type: Proposal Development
Project Active From: January 2025 to May 2025
Location: George Mason University, Professional and Technical Writing course (Spring 2025)
This group project, consisting of a Proposal & E-Deliverable, challenged students to write a formal proposal that lays out the goal, scope, and organization of our e-learning deliverable, as well as identifying the sources and methods to be used. The organization we opted to focus on was the Crochet Guild of America*; specifically, a local chapter. The overall final project was expected to include a bibliography of articles, books, or websites relative to our instructional subject matter; and was evaluated in terms of its instructional architecture, content completeness, visual design, interactivity, and usability. To fulfill the requirements necessary for this project, I took on roles as a Content Writer/Editor, Crochet Chart Developer, Module/Tutorial Developer; as well as showcasing general content development, rhetorical analysis, and team collaboration skills. The project asked my team to:
- Identify the topic and the purpose/usefulness of the instructions.
- Precisely identify the target audience/demographic in terms of needs such as means of access (technology), knowledge base, etc.
- Outline the basic format of the instructions.
- Provide a market analysis that demonstrates the gaps in available resources on the topic.
- Include a production timeline for my team.
- Ensure that the proposal, while brief, was formal in that it requires use of sources (cited according to an established style such as MLA, APA, etc.) and complied with requested sections.
*Although they are referenced in the documents, myself and my team are not affiliated with the CGOA in any way, shape, or form.
